windscreen wipers yaris

Recommended Posts

as a newbie to the Toyota yaris owners I had interesting experience whilst driving on m4 south wales I noticed one wiper driver side was longer than passenger side this was topic of much amusment for rest of trip, I decided to buy new Wiper Blades and asked motor factor if they also noticed this difference in size or maybe I needed a trip to specsavers.

Quite common for the driver's side wiper to be longer than the passenger side wiper - not just Toyota - which gives the driver a larger swept area through which to see. We've had new cars from Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Mazda and Toyota, and they have all had this feature.

For a long time now each of the cars I have had, one wiper has been longer then the other. Usually drivers side longer.
My current 2016 Prius, drivers side 28”, passenger side 16” (if I remember  correctly).  That covers a lot of screen, more so on the drivers side which is important. More efficient clean area.
I can remember a car with just one wiper, that did look unusual, only problem was it left unwiped areas at each top corner, which was really bad viewing on the drivers side.

Our 2016 Yaris has only one wiper. Like all Aygos...... Normal these days.

All 28" of it,  I have heard of dealers charging as much a £40

When my wife & I had Aygos, we used the flat Aero blades, they were brilliant.
With the Yaris's attachment, I can't use the same brand.
They have to be the "Hybrid" type.

My replacement will probably be from here......

I have a Bosch aero twin on mine AR708U iirc

unclip the old, get the new one out clean the grease off the blade with glass cleaner or screen wash and a cloth, clip on, push down the cap - job done
