Lug Nuts

I think I remember reading somewhere that the torque for Corolla Lug Nuts should be

around 90nm. Would you say that is about right ?

Most Toyota cars these days are set at 102Nm, not sure about older Corolla but +-10Nm will not be a big deal. Perhaps you can find your model here and the set values. 👍

I thought that the dealer/garage standard was 'too much for anyone without an air gun to undo'.

These garages are insane for stupidity. Over tighten lug nuts are more dangerous than not tighten enough, when too tight if you hit a pothole or go around bend at higher speeds can snap the nuts(bolts) and loose your wheel.

Definitely complete ignorance and stupidity to blast lug nuts on to twice the spec when lug nuts have a tendency to tighten up beyond normal spec.

In Saudi Arabia torque wrench is spelt "man standing on long bar".

Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that the next time I have my wheels off and I'll just make them finger tight.

Anyway, Finger tightening them is your 'normal spec' ? ..you would be a great candidate for working in a tyre shop and be

loved so much by certain BMV drivers who have had to cut their wheels off because of the finger tighteners lolol.

Thanks, you must think very highly of me if you think I am capable of doing such a technical job.
