DAB +

Hi all......just joined the Boomer's, tuning to Boom Radio at home.

Recently dropped on this independent easy listening station, a great experience.

Missing out when out & about leads me to ask.

Does my 2021 Dynamic PHEV include DAB+ ?

Hi Barry, If your radio has a Digital Radio Tick Mark this means your radio is DAB+ enabled and will receive the available DAB, DAB+ and FM radio stations. Funny we have been listening to Boom for a while and apparently the DJs broadcast from their homes.

Mind you some of The DJs are so old they probably couldn't get out the house 😂

It does seem to be popular with some on here; I never even heard of it until very recently when someone mentioned it in a post!

Evening Bob.....no tick mark obvious, but not sure where to look.

DAB only with many radio stations listed but no Boom 🤨

Propose to visit the local Toyota for advice.
Yeah....really like Boom, my kind of music interspersed with informative chat between tracks.

Hi Barry, can you receive Classic on DAB? If you can, I believe you have DAB+ because there was a lot of press last month about it switching from DAB to DAB+. To be honest, I was pretty sure it is DAB+ but I only listen to a couple of BBC radio stations.

Maybe you just need to rescan for new stations?

Hi Barry, Not sure what head unit you have but if can find the FM. DAB channels and if you have DAB + a tick mark will be next to it . Try also looking through all the channels to see if DAB + is shown.

Failing all that see if you can tune into boom radios frequency. The other way is to stream DAB+ through your smartphone.You can also buy an adaptor to pick up DAB+ and this has it's own aerial. Hope some of this helps.🙂

Just out of curiosity I’ve checked if I could get Boom on my 2021 Dynamic and yes I can , BOOM UK is there, can’t see any reference to DAB+ or a tick though.

the touch2 gen 1, 2 and 3 all have DAB+ as they are all SDR-based (software-defined radio) anything pre 2012 that uses a separate DAB module is only DAB

you may need to retune aka ensemble, if it's a recent new station

 

ah it's 2021 so a retune/ensemble will find it

Final posting promise......"Boom Radio" does appear on the station list.

When selected signal drops in/out as does the broadcast.

Guess I'm picking up DAB only, smartphone/adapter here I come.

Hi Barry, glad you are sorting the Boom radio problem,however have you considered the signal drop might be the old DJs falling asleep behind the microphone at home
