Wheel vibration after puncture

Hi all, 2022 corolla with factory 16" wheels , Bridgestone ecopia original tyres, last week got a puncture to the rear tyre driver side and had to use the tyre sealant stuff which got me to a tyre fitter, who then told me the puncture couldn't be repaired due to using the sealant, and to replace it. They didn't have another Ecopia, but had a bridgestone turanza, same size but with a slightly different tread pattern. I didn't think anything of it due to it being the same make and on the rear. Now though I have a vibration through the car and seats at around 70mph. I took it back to the tyre place today and they rebalanced the wheel but said it was all ok.

 

I'm now thinking as it was perfect before, it has to be the mismatch that's causing the vibration so - do I get the tyre swapped out for an Ecopia which is exactly the same as the others (the fitter has offered to do a deal to swap now they ordered one in). My other theory is the tyre guys haven't cleaned out the sealant correctly ....

I think you had answered your own question, the tyre fitter most likely didn’t cleaned properly the sealant prior to installing the new tyre. Or the new tyre is defective or out of balance. Perhaps back to the same place and ask for further investment and solution.

On the face of it I agree, but wouldn't any sealant still stuck to the inside of the wheel have been balanced out?
