New Yaris T-sport

I have had a T-Sport for a week now, great little car but the steering feels really heavy when going very slow or parking. Great driving on B-roads where i live but a bit of a pig squeezing into small parking spots in town. Also it as some kind of film cover on the front of the rear wheel arches which the dealer say's are for stone chips(????). New for the 2005 model (?). What do you guys/gals think is a good running in time before i can start trashing the motor a little.

Cheers

Richard

Hi mate and welcome!

I'd run it in for about 100 miles as new cars really don't need ran in anymore! :D

Happy motoring! B)

Welcome!

To see if the power steering is working..... sit in the car with the engine running and start turning the steering wheel..... you should hear the engine revs drop a little when the servo mechanism is moving..... You may also hear the servo itself moving........

Mine also has the protective film over the rear arches.....

Salut et bienvenu!

The film in front of the rear wheels is normal and all Yari have them...

A+

Ay power steering... had that problem on my dads old Carina.

Id give it 500miles run in, just to give things time to turn a bit, get the lubrication spread around!

P.S. Welcome to the club!
