Warranty Info For Gear Knob

I have had my T-Sport for about 18 months, bought from new. The gear knob is beginning to get a little scratched. I don't actually know why as I don't wear any rings or anything. Its starting to lose its chrome look, so I was wondering whether I could kick up a fuss with my dealer or would there not be much point??

Also if I wanted to replace the gear knob does anyone know where I can get an identical one, are they quite easy to come by??

I see T Sport knobs on eBay quite a bit, usually not going for more than 30quid. I picked up a brand new T Spirit knob (5-speed pattern instead of 6) about 3 weeks ago for 15quid.

I couldn't find anything today, but I'll keep an eye out on eBay. You never know when something will turn up on there.

Your Toyota comes with a 3YEAR Warranty so yes I would metion it (wibble on about quality etc.), keep it polite and say how happy you are with car (and service/dealership) and thus 'shocked' this could happen with such a nice car etc, etc, :D

Even if you don't 'get anywhere' the fact you mention it is doing good, because if say some more owners were to mention it they may at a later date contact you under a 'recall'.

The only way Toyota (or any manufacturer) knows if there is a problem is if people tell them.

Thanks for the information guys, I do have one more question, that probably seems really stupid.Would I have to take the car back to the dealership that I bought the car from?? Its just that I have moved with work and the dealer I bought the car from is currently 5 hours drive away, so you can understand how reluctant I am to have to take it back there.

I was going to assume that as long as I took it to any toyota dealer I could ask for a replacement under warranty but I just thought I'd ask here first, as I don't want to look like a mug when I turn up.

A full toyota warranty will be valid at any of its franchised dealerships. Well it should be.
