Lucida Buying Tips

I am considering buying a Lucida 2.2TD but do not know an awful lot about them. Has anyone got any tips or things to look out for.

How good are the diesel engines?

Are the auto box's reliable?

Is there any common faults I need to look out for?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

:help:

I've just imported one for my wife, a 1995 Lucida 2.2TD Auto X Luxury 8 seater. The process took almost 3 months from start to finish and now she says she can't drive it! She just can't seem to get along with it being Automatic and having the hand brake on the right. I'd get another one because I think they're great. I can't believe how nippy it is, I thought that it was going to be a real slouch being that it's a big car, automatic and a diesel. Did they make a manual version??

It's now for sale if anyone's interested.... Can I post a description here???

Duchy,

As I've said elsewhere on this board perhaps the most important thing is to check that the mileage is genuine, ask the seller for the Japanese auction sheet or have it checked by BIMTA (01892-515425), If they haven't got the sheet I'd be wary. If you want any more specific help on the different models please feel free to call me (07775-626355) and I'll give you more info, to put it all on here would take forever.

I should also point out that I import them and have 4 coming in over the next few days.

Oh and Darren, yes they do make a manual but they are very rare (probably about 1 in 50).
