Homemade Mod

My da had this idea and i think it worked out great. After doing some kitchen alterations we had some Stainless steel tubing left about (we were going to use it to make a fancy pole to support a lighting feature). We figured that we could do something with this so my dad shortened it and took it into work to be drilled here's the results:

Basically 4 short bolts hold the pipe in place on top of the existing pipe then a final bolt secures it to the pipe, by pressing against the bottom of the pipe, all the bolts were loctited for extra strength.

Some of you might think its a little naf, but it cost jack all and makes a good styling mod.

Yeah thats the only downside with it - it has absolutly no effect on the sound!

Looks good mate.........there is a BUT, where the pipe has been cut on the end it will rust!! You have to put something on it just to stop the water getting near it.

Oh no it doesn't...

Nickel/Chrome plated mild steel (a far cheaper alternative) when the plating it cut or scratched rusts over time...

I work with and design for stainless steel every day - our flasks/clocks/cups will NEVER rust

It was going to support a thing that held lights over a breakfast bar, sort of a big piece of wood with halogen lamps in. the tube was going to be decorative.
