Hi there,

I found that some of you are talking about installing adapters to Corolla 2002- standard CD player to give it a possibility of connecting aux audio input.

I would like to install this as well, but I am noobie and need info on

1. what kind of adapter should be put in

2. suggestions on where the input connectors could be placed?

I am affraid to ask for some pics.

thx

You'll find something here. Aux-In you'll find here. I wanted to use it with my Yaris Verso, but up to 100 Euros is too much, i think.

100 € looks too much for me as well - could add few € and get myself an iPod

  • 3 weeks later...

I've just bought a Connects2 Aux adapter. Part no VTYX001

http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product...?partno=VTYX001

from Halfords over the phone.

http://www.connects2.com/c2stockists.asp

Company : Halfords

Address : Stores nationwide

Telephone : 0800 197 1196

Web : www.soundontop-halfords.co.uk (doesn't work in FireFox)

eMail : Halfords.direct@halfords.co.uk

Took about a week to arrive.

£50.99 all in.

Seems to have all the required cables.

Now all I've got to do is figure out how to get the radio out!

hey tim

nice one.. i think i am gonna do same. i took my radio out by:

1. pulling out the fascia with the vents ( carefully but bravely!)

2. removing the 4 nuts (on each side ie 8 total) that secure the radio to the metal chassis.

I was wondering... does this adapter modulate the signal in any way? or if one just located the L and R aux pins as well as GND wouldnt that do?

cheers

All done. Installed. Works great.

No idea about what it does in that little box. I guess you could wire it up yourself. You probably have to match the impedances or summat. I reckoned for £50 i could save myself the hassle (& not blow up the radio).

Should've taken some pics but was in too much of a rush.

Things of interest.

- the cable can be hooked up over the left air duct, which is quite neat

- would've been nice to have got some sticky pads to stick the box down (haven't noticed a rattle yet, but wasn't really happy with with where I'd wedged it in)

- the cable easily reaches down into the glove box, and hangs nice and loose for whatever device you decide to put in there.

Quite impressed with toyota build quality (compared to citroen & rover at any rate).

thats good to hear.. my problem is that 2 pins from the cd changer plug are in use! - i dont know if thats to power the dvd unit for the sat nav so i cant just plug in this aux adpater.

u wouldnt be able to tell- from recall or from any diagrams that came with it - are all pins in use? the cd changer plug has 5 pins on the top row and 7 on the bottom. the 10th and 9th pin are in use on mine. on the aux adapter are all pins used?

thanx for any help
