Advice Needed

Hello all,

Just been up to Newcastle today in my 98 Corolla 1.6 lift back , when I started off the petrol tank was around the quarter full mark.

I put £ 25 in the tank which took it up to virtually full. I did a steady 70-80 mph along the M1 and A1, anyway I worked it out that I got 175 miles to half a tank of petrol.

Can anyone tell me if this range sounds about right?

Thanks in advance for any info anyone might be able to offer

Cheers Albi

Depends on how much your fuel cost, and how many litres it actually used, going off about £20 of fuel which is possibly half a tank, (is in mine anyway) @ 88.9p per litre which is the going rate round me :ffs: it works out at about 35 to the gallon, which seems ok to me

£20/£0.889 = 22.49 litres / 4.54 (i think to gallons?) = 4.95 Gallons

175/4.95 = 35.35 mpg

I think thats right :) , but i wait to be corrected :D

Mike
