2005 Avensis Radio Reception - Fm

Greetings ...

Out of interest, how do any Avensis owners, with the radio aerial included in the rear window elements, find FM reception ?

My previous car had a "standard" roof mounted aerial, and with a range of radio's fitted the FM reception was extremely good - solid reception with little or no "flutter".

On my new Avensis, however, the FM reception is quite weak - very fluttery ... and quite annoying ....

Am I unlucky ( i.e. its due to a fault ) , or is this how they all are ????

TIA

Mine's fine... Not fantastic, but when I had my van (!) I had a DAB head unit in it so I got a bit spoilt by it. I would say that the reception I get on FM in my Avensis is good, on par with FM reception. Only when I use the rear wiper do I get interference.

Someone else commented on a fault regarding the window heating element causing interference when it was used. I think they took the car back under warranty and had it sorted.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Jim

Have no issues with mine at all, reception is better than with my previous Focus, and stereo effect is very good. I am very satisfied with the radio/cd overall.
