just got a 1996 Toyota Paseo but the remote for the keyless entry / alarm doesn't work.

The red LED on the key fob lights when you press the button but nothing happens.

Can any body help me - I think it just needs reprograming!

Mine was exact6ly the same mate.

I just bought a new Battery, before fitting the Battery go near the car (a metre away) and point remote at car with no Battery in, press button 10 times.

Put new battery in and do the same.

Mine started working then :D

The buttons on the remote.. Just press them randomly without the Battery in it about ten times. Then whack the Battery back in and it should start working again.

I'm guessing that if your led isnt lighting up then you need a new Battery.

Maybe this topic/solution deserves a sticky?

I know I had to find out how to do it through trial and error.

Would have been alot easier if the method had been easily accessible through forums.

Think the solution could also apply to other toyotas as the alarm may be the same?

Who has an LED? What's that! Where is it -on the key? I don't have one of those. I don't have any flashy LEDS on the dash either. Do the Japanese not have 'technology'.

BWAHAHAHAHAHa
