Hoe Do I Fit A Stereo In The Cubby Hole Above Ash Tray?

Hi, i need advise on how to fit my Alpine head unit into the cubby hole above the ash tray in my 03 Corolla T sport because i got the factory fitted sat nav and i still want to keep that and the cubby hole looks like the only place to put it but it looks like its part of the dash and cannot be taken out is that true???is it a right pain of a job and is there any face surrounds available if so where can i get that from?? Any help at all would i would be VERY grateful
