Product For Removing Excess Wax

Please can anyone recommend a product that's designed to remove old wax residue (ie the white stuff that's left in the nooks and crannies if not removed properly).

Is there such a product for that very purpose? If not, any good alternatives?

:help:

Cheers!

honestly....

the best thing is an old toothbrush and some warm water...

you can get specific detailing brushes designed for doing it, but i find the old trick works fine ;)

Great, I thought as much and saves me a tenner on some fancy product. Will pop down to Boots today and buy a baby's toothbrush as they're nice and soft

Whilst it's fantastic the previous owner waxed the car, I think they were a little over zealous and have got wax in every possible nook and cranny - and believe me on a MK1 there are a few!!

dont get too soft bristles, otherwise it wont shift the deep wax...

the key is to be careful and precise, you shouldnt scratch the paint, but always best to be as careful as you can...

  • 2 weeks later...

cotton buds or 'cue-tips' if your a yank

you can squash them with a pair of pliers to get them into tight orifices's (morning vicar!) and theyre strong enough to work against any tubborn globules of dried wax

meguires sell them in a pack of 10 for somat sill like £84 but a box of normal ones from the chemist are about £1.50 for 100
