Hi

I just bought a Corolla. but it has only one key (Black key with remote buttons).

Please can some one advise me how do i get a duplicate (with remote buttons) of that key.

I know it will expensive going to Toyota dealer.

Locksmith 4 U quoted £47.50 for duplicate (without remote buttons).

I checked in eBay and find some keys like:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Remote-Key-Fo...1QQcmdZViewItem

will it be useful buying one of those?

Please tell me any alternatives.

thanks in advance

Take the details from eBay to your Toyota dealer and see what they have to say! I'd say it'll work, but it will still have to be brought to your dealer to be re-programmed which will cost you lots of £££s anyway!

The key on eBay is actually useless considering that the key will not start your car, however the remote part can be re-programmed, toyota charge just under £40 to get it re-programmed. I think they sell the actual remote key for £35 im not 100% sure though. good luck anyway

If the key you have now is a master key, then best bet is to buy a new key from your dealer and I'll dig out the immobilser/remote locking procedure out for you matey. From what I remember, the Corolla has the same coding sequence as the Mk1 Avensis for remote central locking.
