Changing A Brake Light On A Gen 5?

Thought this would be easy but i can't seem to get at the bulb. I thought it would just be behind the plastic cover in the boot but no.... just a piece of metal. I don't want to start prying bits off the car as there is probably some easy way to gain access. Now i wish i'd paid the £2.99 at Halfords to get it fitted to. How embrassing!

From what I can remember, I think you have to gain access via the boot peel back the black plastic cowling and its all in there

But please dont quote me on this, its early and I could have made it all up.

If you haven't got a manual I can try to scan the appropriate page for you. Process is to carefully prise out the louvred corner piece from its leading edge.

Behind that you'll find fasteners that hold the light unit in place. Once these are removed the unit should pull away from the car and you can change the bulbs.

pry this piece off gently and unscrew the underlying screw(s)

and you get left with this

there is a screw behind the plastic indicator and also one which screws down into the light,this is covered with a small plastic cover which u can just pop off,then changing bulbs is a doddle :)
