Prius Recall

Hi all,

Ever since having the work carried out on my Prius for the recall on the steering shaft problem, every time I turn the wheel (lock to lock) I get a clonk noise (only once) and you can feel it through the steering wheel. Has anyone else experienced this problem who had the recall done please?

Thanks,

Stompe

Possibly the bolt on the steering shaft needs tightening or the UJ has started to wear already.

Either way take it back for a check up. I wouldnt worry about it too much though just get it looked at.

:D Hi,

It depends what parts were changed on the recall, some require a complete shaft [two sections] and some only require a part section and some require no parts at all only a check. If one part is replaced it will be the lower shaft it needs to be aligned correctly so the UJs turn in sync with each other. The bolts should not be loose as part of the recall is to torque the settings, take it back to get it cheeked as it should not be noisy.

Yes they should be torqued up as part of the recall but that doesnt mean they havent been done properly :)

Alignment will be nothing to do with it knocking 'gniie' :)

Cheers,
