Ipod Connection

We have a new Yaris 1.3 T-Spirit, with the integrated Sat Nav. Whenever we try to plug an iPod into the USB port we get a message saying "cannot connect with this cable." Been back to the dealer who sent us to Halfords saying they would supply a better grade cable (the one we have tried to use is the normal one that connects an iPod (new nano) to the computer. Halfords told us no such thing existed. Has anybody else had trouble getting an iPod to play through the USB, or if you've been successful what cable have you used? Thanks

I think you need to buy the ipod, USB integration kit, there is one listed in the Toyota accessories list. Will cost you about £150 though!

Do you have an aux socket? If so, use that with a standard speaker/line out cable, good reproduction and pennies instead of pounds!

I had the same problem - just purchased one of these from eBay (£3.98) and Ipod Touch now plays via Aux connection.
