I BOUGHT A TOYOTA CAMI WITH 130,000 KM ON IT AND IT RUNS GREAT VERY RELIABLE BUT CAME HOME FROM EDINBURGH THE OTHER DAY AND COULD HEAR A SCRAPING NOISE AT IDLE SO I LIFTED THE BONNET TO HAVE A LOOK AND THE NOISE SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE VISCOUS FAN I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE THEN PULLED UP ON THE FAN THERE'S A LITTLE BIT OF MOVEMENT CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM OR AN EASY FIX.

Viscous couplings are generally a non serviceable part so make sure that this is defiantly at fault before replacing it.

Take it off and see if the noise is still there but be mindfull of the engine temp as you will have very little cooling without the fan and coupling
