Yaris Seat Covers

Hi and Happy new year to all.

I am looking for some strong and well fitted seat covers for my 2010 Yaris.

We have 2 small dogs who like to 'make beds' on the seats so they will need to be quite robust, but I don't really want the industrial type of seat covers like you see in some 4 X 4s.

Wondering what covers you dog owners all use?

I don't think strong and well fitted seat covers exist

I have searched everywhere for a decent seat cover (back seat) but they were all useless. The first one I got in tesco kept sliding off the seat every time the dog moved so I got one in Argos with elasticated edges, thought that would stop it sliding off the seat - no good,it was too small for the seat! I looked in Halfords thinking they would have the right thing, but the ones they had were just as bad. So I ended up modifying the Tesco one and now it never slides off the seat.

Its a good idea to put your dog in a harness which has a part for a seatbelt to go through, so the dog won't be sliding all over the seat or take a notion to jump into the front.Safer in an accident too. I'm not keen on those metal grids people use with the dog squashed up against the rear window.

I had to cut holes in the cover to tie it on to the bars at the bottom of the seat to keep it from sliding off. The cover has an elastic strap on 2 corners so I put that side to the top of the seat and wrap the elastic round the plastic handles for sliding/folding seats. I had to cut a hole in the cover to plug in the seatbelt.

On wet days I put a rubber mat under the seat cover as it not really very waterproof.

Thanks Lorna, I think I will go down the robust and quick removable route
