Hi Jen

Could we have a bit more info

1, was a new as in direct from Toyota?

2, or was it from eBay as was suggested

3, "the screen is coming up " do you mean the screen where you see the station info

4, who removed the old one and installed the replacement?

As far as i am aware these radio's don't require any codes

Hi David

It was from eBay spares seller.

Yeah sorry the display where you can see the station info cones up and volume works and aux.

I and a co worker who is an electronics guy removed it and I put back in with the correct wires. I followed your instructions on another post about removal and toyota said basically if we were able to remove it then just the same putting back.

We checked the fuses under the bonnet too they all fine.

Thanks

Jen

So looking at it logically, i assume the display indicates you are scanning for stations but finds none. All you can hear from the Speakers is "white noise". ( loud hiss which changes with volume. ) but you can hear music if you use the AUX input.

Does the CD player accept CD's or not allow them to be taken in ?

As far as the radio goes, we are assuming the aerial connection went in ok

Will check power requirements on my service manual, there may be 2 fuses for this radio/CD

Ok i am looking at the system now. There is quite a large diagnostic check that can be done and may need doing because the unit you have now has a different address code than the one you took out so it cant talk to the communication bus. Sorry if this sounds technical. It needs for your electronics guy to go through this procedure. If you PM me with an email address i will try to send you the info in PDF format
