Verso Starting Problem

My 2011 diesel Verso has been accidently stalled 3 times over the past 6 months and each time it has refused to start again for at least 5 minutes and on one occasion it took 10minutes. Not only does it refuse to start but the entire car is unresponsive. We have had the car for 18 months and don't recall having this problem in the beginning.

Has any one had similar problems or got any ideas. Wondering if it is a computer fault as the car seems to completely shut down and then start up completely ok.
