Heater Fan Speeds?

Another "niggle" about my new Aygo X-Pression.

I have the manual control version with the 4 speed fan switch. Is it me or are the speeds not in proportion. speed 3 seems a bit slow then selecting speed 4 there is a large increase in speed. speeds 1 2 and 3 seems a bit too slow to me. My old 2012 Aygo seemed fine however.

Just to let you know a member of another forum had a problem whereby his heater switch only worked on number 4. Major strip down to replace a regulator on the blower motor works perfect now though.

Now far be it for me to imply that maybe yours is showing signs

It is usually the heater resister that fails. When on full speed it is using Battery voltage and not passing through any resistance hence it working on full speed. The problem with resisters on many cars is that at lower fan speeds the resister gets hot and burns out and often the wiring on the connector plug burns out too.

All my speeds are working but there is a massive step between position 3 and 4.

Well Phil all your speeds are working at the moment whist the car is under Warrenty.

Maybe sit in another and try that out for size. During the Warrenty.

I don't see many members answering your question wonder why???

Probably because other members who have similar cars either haven't noticed an issue, don't have an issue or haven't checked.
