Oz To Uk Import

Guys,

I have a question for those of you living in the UK. Do you have to pay any border tax when importing car parts from Australia? A friend of my is planning to get some stuff from there and he's looking for the least expensive way to get it to Poland.

Any info appreciated.

yeah .. all cars (no matter where from) get import duty added ..

I know Holland & Ireland are common place for imports ..

And what about parts? I.e. an exhaust system?

anything imported over a certain value (£25 I think) has Duty added.

anything over £20 or £35 gift gets taxed for vat 17.5%, duty 10% and then a clearance fee of about £13-£15 by the courier who pays the charges and brings it through customs for you.

all the above will come into play on the declared value of the item(s). sometimes customs let little packages through if they are declared as low value etc.
