I thought netbeans was Java. It's just an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for Java isn't it? (just like you'd use DevStudio for programming Visual C/Visual Basic/etc.)

I've just started learning Java in my spare time and netbeans was reccomended as an IDE both by folk at work and even O'Reilly recommends it.

How much Java have you done?

I've done 2 years of Java in university and I suppose you're right in the fact that it is Java but in an IDE.

Never was the best at Java but sumhow always managed to pass but this netbeans is just taking the biscuit.

I used to develop Java in textpad mate and when you go from textpad to netbeans its a completely different ball game.

Anyone else done anything along these lines? :!Removed!:

I used 'J Builder' by Borland for Java ...... wouldn't recommend it though as different versions of the program had compatablity problems and produced errors - which you don't really want as you haven't got a clue what your doing anyway ;) !

Me neither  !
