We all have different views on what is interesting.

The only measure to determine whether something is interesting is it's view and post count ;).

So I do not understand why people contribute to threads when they have little constructive to say.

Why contribute to a thread you would rather not see here?

If no one bumped it back up to the top it would die in hours.

The only reason I can see for people contributing to threads they do not care about is to belittle the poster which, in my opinion, is a little bit sad.

Of the 20 or so threads under the GENERAL DISCUSSIONS forum (PAGE 1 only) there are only 2, maybe 3 threads remotely related to Toyota. All the rest have nothing to do with Toyota so I would think that this post is OK too. This site seems to go off topic a lot.

I also belong to the VW TDI owners forum (http://www.tdiclub.com/) and there are no posts, well maybe 1 or 2, that are not related to VW’s or diesel engines. This site rarely, if ever goes off topic.

So, it sounds like the TOC is probably more of a fun bunch whereas us TDI folks are just way too consumed with our diesels and have no time for other non-related posts.

As for the dials they're standard yes, not even the Essex boy white backed ones from the Si (I can take the *****, I had one ;) )

All he did was post a link that he thought people might find amusing. There aren't anywhere near as many posts as there used to be on TOC & if people get the :censor: took out of them for no good reason I can understand why they'd stop posting. As mentioned, if you don't like it, ignore it, it really is that simple.

To be honest its no different to any of the other funny eBay sales posts we've had in the past on TOC - and no one ever complained about those - and the majority of them were 10 times worse than said Escort :lol::lol:

If you dont like what you read, dont read it. If its offensive, report it and if not ignore it. This thread (which started as a bit of a laugh) has gone a bit too serious for its own good! :rolleyes:

But speaking your mind won't stop them popping up, if anything they'll pop up more because they irritate someone.

At the end of the day, we're all free to say what we want and of course if something rattles you, you have the right to express that, but is a post on an internet forum about a Ford Escort really worth it - there are more pressing issues in the world that we can rant about.

Can understand where you're coming from hun but its hardly worth the RSI.

And of course it wasnt like this back in 1814.... ;)
