Something in the water i think. People seem very quick to jump on something and slate it rather than discussing it like rational human beings. There is a hard core of dyed in the wool TOC-ites that have been around for donkeys years and know one another either by having met at meets or spending far too many hours on here :D who are genuinely helpful and discerning people. Then there are a few recent - ish types who always seem to be running anyone down who`s opinion may be different to theirs. And even worse theirs a couple (You know who you are) who really seem to have an axe to grind with any post whatever it contains.

Karmas recent garage thread is a prime example. A simple observation and discussion gets blown out of the water for what i could see was no good reason. we`re all supposed to be adults so i think it`s about time some others got a grip and started to act like it.

Perhaps it`s about time everybody took a step back and had a good hard look at themselves and try to work out if this is really the place for you.

Sorry if this offends anyone but i`m just calling it as i see it. It`s an opinion.... Mine. :D

As you can see from my joining date and the amount of posts i have made i am fairly new to this board. I am very surprised by the comments that are made on here sometimes. I was a member of another forum a few years back and everyone had great fun. We met up, did rolling road days etc.

In fact it was due to these sort events I found a fault with my car and with the support of others on the forum got the problem resolved.

We dont seem to have that here. I always thought under General Discussion it was a post what you like (within reason). Perhaps to put all of this to bed the Administration team could create a "other car chat" & "off topic" section, rename General Discussion to "General Toyota Discussion" to clarify.

Overall we come back to the same thing. If you dont want to read it dont. It would be good to get to where the board was intended to be (and probably was) a group of enthuiasts talking about their passion and interest in cars and helping each other out where they can.

Anyways. Having completely hijacked the thread.

Back to the Escort. It`s a tad unfortunate that a lot of youngsters nowadays seem to have taken a liking to plastering graphics all over their cars. Following that Max Power fashion perhaps.

But you have to look deeper than that. My first `customised' car was a `77 Vauxhall Cavalier coupe. Started off as an asthmatic 1.9 and ended up with a slightly less asthmatic 3.0 straight six in it. White Weller 6 spokes and a Scaffold pole roll cage. To name a few of the better mods. I`ve got better in the intervening years (Some may disagree :!Removed!: ) But the point i`m coming to is that the bloke wanted to do something to make his car stand out - Nothing wrong with that in principle, Reality is a little dissapointing though. But who knows, he could be heading for bigger and better things, then again wanting to swap it for a Corsa or a Saxo, maybe not.

But at least he had the balls to do it. He`s gained experience and maybe, just maybe he`s wise enough not to do it again.

true, you never know he may have sold it when he was passing by a shop window admiring himself in his pride and joy only to notice someone in the shop pointing and laughing.

As if anybody would be that cruel.:lol:

In all honesty if you took the graphics off it wouldn`t really be all that bad.

OK. I`m lying. :D

You can, It says 'Talk about anything here'

I think there are enough sections and subsections here as it is. We could have a 'General Belligerence' forum for those who can't seem to shake the negativity and actually discuss something .

If you get a car looking like that there's no way every1's going to like it so they'll be expecting to be laughed at by a lot of people, it's just 1 of those things about modifying a car
