Just wondered if anyone happened to know the code number for the paint on my red yaris (W reg) - all the docs say is Chilli and Red. Are all the reds the same, or do i really need to know the one for my model? Have a couple of chips I want to patch up. Just want to save me a mobile phone call to the dealers!

If you tell the dealer your registration they can find out there and then as they did for me :) I will go look in a second though if no one replies before hand

EDIT: I'm assuming you are getting the Toyota Paint? I really would as for me it was cheaper as got rattle can of red and the laquer rattle can in a pack for about a fiver and Halfords wanted more for one that probably wont be as good a match!

It'll tell you the paint code under the bonnet. I believe it's on the same little plate as the VIN Number etc which I think is right at the front, towards the left I believe. I can't be certain though & I've sold my Yaris so I can't check but I'm sure some1 will be able to correct me if I'm wrong. The code should be a very simple 1, my old car was "8M6"

Chilli Red is 3PO. Don't go to Halfrauds, you have to buy a kit with primer and all sorts of stuff you really don't need to cover a tiny stone chip. A good motor factors should be able to make you up a little bottle.

To touch up stone chips get the genuine Toyota touch up kit for about £5 or less

It has a small bottle of paint with brush and a bottle of top coat lacquer with brush.

The paint bottle also has a small wire brush built in to get rid of any small rust patches.........but be very careful using that as you can do a lot of damage.

Chilli Red is a current Toyota colour (3PO)

Cheers guys, if it's cheap then I'll just get it straight from Toyota. I was just expecting them to be a lot more expensive than anywhere else!

I went through alot of cans of Toyota touch up to find the right Chilli red for my old yaris. What a pain in the bum that was!

Make sure that they give you the right colour, else it'll look horrendous!
