Kerbed My Alloys

:ffs: Kerbed one of my lovely new 17's tonight :crybaby:

It's taken the top layer off the edge of the rim - it's not desperately bad but just really annoying as I've been so careful with them. :censor:

Anyway anyone used one of those Halfords repair kits & how do they work? Or what about some silver paint to cover the black scuff mark?

Emergency repair Girlfriend style, she has actually done this when I had alloys on my last motor, and had just gouged them on the kerb

"just lick your finger and give it a wipe, there see"

It doesnt help much, but she tried. I was still bouncing and growling though

No Gordy I wish I was joking :crybaby: Not having a very good week... :(

They're not a special finish, well High Power Silver?

My previous cars alloys just looked scuffed when kerbed but stayed silver, these have gone black where the scuff is, I guess as it's taken the finish off. I resent getting them refurbed coz they're what? 6 weeks old? Damn! :ffs:

i know how it feels!

if theyve gone black then its been scratched down to the base coat and youll need to replace the finish both the base and the top coat if ya ever want it too look right

gutted for ya mate. and because of the finish, they are gonna be a b :censor: h to get right with a repair kit... sounds like youve gone wat past the laquer to get it black...

i lent me car to a mate once who used to do go karting for a while, so i trusted him in my car... he asked if he could spin the wheels, i was like yeah whatever go for it. Stupid fool didnt have the steering straight when he floored it and the wheels was spinning whilst dragging along a damn kerb!!!!! so thats one wheel totally gone from the edges, the others a pretty bruised up too. and my finish cant be matched ANYWHERE!!! :ffs: oh well, i got a scoob now, so im not too bothered
