Hello.

The problem is that my avensis D4D 2001 year, showed me "low oil"

I replaced oil (ELF 5W40 synthetic) before 7 month and done about 5000 km. Now driving on highway ~100-110 km/h (66 mph) and the lamp is showing "low oil". Watched under the car, there is nothig oily, evrything is clear, so cant be that oil is leaking...

What oil consumption is in your avensis? is it ok for my avensis?

hi

the problem is the pistons skirts oil drain holes are blocked with an oil sllag due to overheating -- it was a designed fault.

this fault was made to all models? can i solve it, or just leave it by filling some oil when need?

how much you need oil to fill, when changing it?

In service they filled me 6 L (toyota says need 6.5L)

What ROIL additive you had used?

how much you need oil to fill, when changing it?---> we've two difer engine and it's understood both of them have own oil sump volume -- as to mine - i pour 3.5 ltr of fresh oil during each service + 100 g of ROIAL.

What ROIL additive you had used?--> the ROIL plastic can is composite one with two compartments. try to arrange for a photo. This additive contains some solvents or like this too make deposits soft and able to be flashed by the same engine oil. this ROIL is available on the market but sometimes we can not see what we need :))

  • 3 weeks later...

the 2.o ltr diesel engine take 6.4 ltrs of engine oil , word of advice try 10w40 engine oil it is thicker so will not slip past the piston rings as easy Toyota do have a extended warranty for this problem thier specification of them amount of engine oil to be used by the engine should be 1ltr of oil every 600 miles that is standard for this engine so if you do go to a dealer and say ' i want my engine changed (short motor) makes sure the oil consumption exceeds the above specification. toyota will do an consumption check (filling oil to max and telling you to come back at 600 miles) before anything is repaired so the dealers can get authority from toyota to do the repair. oh full service history is of great importance.
