got a yaris t sport p2 on 55 plate, when down shifting in 2nd gear it makes "scrapping/crunching" sound, at first thought might been gear linkage/selector but had it looked at and they are saying that its the 2nd gear syncro is poor

is this an easy fix?

Short answer, No. If it is that then its a case of gearbox removal and strip. Your description sounds like a synchro fault. Get a 2nd opinion if you are unsure.

mine's like that on a brand new 1.3 SR until the gearbox oil is fully warm. Talking on the forum, its a known "weakness" that you have to live with.....
