@CPN what you say prompts a question. When will someone Hack the audio warning system?

Which 12v battery to buy for my 1998 Corolla 1.3
olddriver posted a topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
I haven’t used my 98 Corolla 1.3 for 8 months and the 12v battery was completely flat, wouldn’t even operate the central locking. Hence I have been charging the battery with a Ctek MXS 3.8 Battery Charger and it won’t go past stage 5, and when I disconnected it for a couple of hours and then reconnected, it takes about 5 secs to go to stage 3, and 10 secs to go to stage 4, where it stayed. That was last night, so am I right to think it is not holding the charge and I need to buy a new one? If so, where to buy a battery and which one, bearing in mind that the car will likely not be used much, although I could leave my Ctek connected to it, but not keen for security reasons? -

Hi, alarm can go off when you have low 12v battery too. You can measure this with simple volt meter and when the car is unlocked and you get access to the battery should be at least 12.2v or ideally 12.6v if anything lower then best to recharge with a smart charger. For the tyre pressure best to double check on the door label. On my car is shown 2.3 bar front and 2.2bar rear. This is pressure on cold , checked before driving off and before sun sees the car, as these two can change the pressures significantly.

Changing the subject slightly, I have found out something today which borders on the ridiculous with the MY24 car compared to my MY20 Launch Edition! The Red Baron never had the PCS part of the safety system so occurrences such as those described by @Cyker regarding braking hard, never seemed to occur during normal driving. However, if the ACC was active then under certain circumstances, these kind of events could happen on occasion. With Blue Demon, it would appear that if you decide to switch off the PCS system, then this immediately disables the ACC but you can still have normal cruise control if you want!! Why? Why link the PCS in software with the Adaptive part of the Cruise Control? It's no problem to use the Radar separately for both functions so why do this??!! Absolutely bonkers Toyota!!!

Thanks for the replies, they've been most helpful so far. Anyone know if I can have my brake booster serviced/repaired by a technician rather than buying a new one?

I live half way up a mountain in Scotland, nearest town 35 miles away. I decided to try driving my Seat leon home one day without touching the pedals. I did it successfully. Pretty chuffed. The Seat version was easier and more configurable than the Swace. I do miss that.

I have a MY24 Corolla and a Samsung smartphone. I have AA working both wired and wireless. Wired was easy. Wireless less so. I had already connected my phone by Bluetooth and I followed the instructions in the Multimedia manual (because it wasn't completely intuitive). At first I was getting 'connection failed' messages on the Multimedia screen. I was struggling to work out what I was doing wrong (I have never had wireless AA on a car before) but, for no apparent reason, it eventually connected. Since then it connects automatically without any problems every time I start the car.

It's the seat sensor detecting weight on the seat with the seatbelt not being used. I first noticed this when i put some shopping on the passenger seat and like you the beeping started after i set off. So, as already suggested, if you place any weight on a seat, you have to buckle the seatbelt to avoid beeping.
