I'm sure it would be very helpful. And even someone knows how to do it, there's always a chance to learn something new!

Best regards, Alex

I am extremely interested in that subject, i am planing to sound deadening front doors and change front Speakers and would be verry helpful to me to see and know whats inside and have everything prepaired. Did you use Speakers ring adapters? Thanks.

Ok cool, I'll knock one up in the coming days, good net connection at home dependent!

I fitted 6.5" infinitys that came with plastic universal adapters that worked really well. Very easy to make up some mdf rings if needed though.

I'd love to see a tutorial also. Any chance of a link to the Speakers you installed?

Odd timing! Never come on here anymore but was linking the forum to someone on another site who is looking for an Auris and spotted this right up at the top!

Since Im bored and nice I'll upload the pics just now and try to remember what to do!

Right well here goes, unusually I'm going to do the disclaimer first! It's been 2 and a half years since I did this so please excuse any mistakes. Remember this is my interpretation of how to remove your door cards, it may not be the same method as Toyotas and I will not be responsible for breakages to your car, to you or to passer bys hit in the eye with a bit of flying door trim.

1. The door card as it starts off

2. The first bit to remove

IMG_3602Medium.jpg

3. Unplug the connector from the window controls

IMG_3603Medium.jpg

4. Now to start removing the handle

IMG_3604Medium.jpg

5. You can now see a couple of screws, but not in this pic! Undo them.

IMG_3605Medium.jpg

6. Remove this bit of trim

IMG_3606Medium.jpg

7. Remove this screw

IMG_3608Medium.jpg

8. Pull the doorcard loose, carefully and always checking for bits where its snagging. You have to do this all the way round and quite evenly to avoid damage.

9. Remove the door handle cables from the back of the handle

IMG_3610Medium.jpg

10. Remove this connector which iirc is for the tweeter (sorry for the poor pic)

IMG_3611Medium.jpg

11. And then you can pull the doorcard fully off

IMG_3612Medium.jpg

12. To refit then read this guide backwards!

Also just to add in if you're doing this to replace the Speakers I drilled the rivets out as per

IMG_3613Medium.jpg

and fitted some 6.5" Infinity components.

Which I cant find any fitted pics of!

Cheers

Nice one John, very good guide. Are you running these Speakers with the standard head unit, powered with an amp,can you give some feedback on the set up and quality of sound, thanks.

Your welcome chaps, thanks for that.

As for the set up no I used an alpine iPod stereo with the 6.5" infinity comps up front and an alpine 12" sub all running through a 4 channel Phoenix gold amp. Certainly I thought the sq was very good and having run this set up in another few cars I'd say it was up there with other builds I'd done with sound deadening etc. couldn't do anything permanent as it was leased through my work but this was certainly a great improvement over standard.
