Creaking Doors?

I've noticed recently that the doors on my Auris are very creaky when opening.

(reminds me of a 10 year old peugeot 205 I had years ago :o )

I tried some grease on the hinges, but doesn't help. Anyone else have / had this?

They put some oil to my doors too at Toyota when I complained about it. Now it's been fine!

Best regards, Alex

Toyota bulletin suggests replacement rather than lubricating them.

If you goto your dealer you would get them replaced.

Mart.

Are the door hinges failing then? It seems a bit steep to replace door hinges just because they creak.

This sort of approach seems to suggest that something may be amiss and the hinges are failing.

more like the check arm (bar between the hinges that stops the door swinging open. give it a good spray with some spray oil or white grease.

hinges are fine AFAIK they are the same design as has been used for years.

I noticed this at the weekend. The creaking is coming from the arms which stop the doors swinging open.

I put grease on them but it didn't help a bit. I'm going to take a look at another auris in the garage to see if it has the same issue.
