Air Flow Control Unit

I'm sure this is something already known, although I haven't found it in the topics, so thought it may be useful to someone else.

YR 2000MR S (pre-cats removed)

Lack of power and revs, misfire and increased fuel consumption was down to the air flow control unit, simple to find and change, the small plastic box on top, just ahead of the air filter, that controls the flow to the injectors, part of the engine management system.

As ever with these little electronic micro-chip things, it isn't cheap, original Toyota part is Euros 100.30c where I live, performance is transformed though!

Do you mean THIS ? (It is in the "Hints and tips" section. ;) )

I hope you tried the cleaning first before buying one :o (Yes they are bloody expensive :shutit: )

Thanks for that! Just renewed it-we are driving the car north through Italy & France soon and weren't risking any failures.
