Mpg Drop-off

Had an Aygo now for about 18 months and have been consistently averaging approx 50mpg.

Last couple of fill ups have seen this reduced to 40mpg.

Anything obvious I can check to see what is causing the reduction, or is the only answer a trip to Mr T?

Cold weather increases fuel consumption, maybe that is the case now? Looking forward warm spring and 50-60 mpg!

Agree mpg will go down in cold / bad weather, but 20% reduction seems a bit excessive? Never seen anything like this on any other car I've driven. The Aygo is currently doing less mpg than my Ford Galaxy auto!

Every driver I know has also mentioned this lower mpg. Petrol & Diesel.

I suggest the fuels have been tampered with i.e. standard fuels are being sold with lowest octane or cetane ratings allowed to support the "record profits" we read about. No evidence for this other than my (relatively) low mpg, but I know my car is in perfect health and the fuel is the only variable remaining. If you the silicone in the petrol scandal from a few years ago, you'll also remember that general public is always last to know
