Oil Top Up

hi i had my oil changed roughly 6-7 months ago and i have a bit left in the tub from what was left over, i have just checked my dipstick when engine cold and its showing roughly just below or exactly half way between empty and full

now can i top my oil up with what was left over ? with it being the same oil as what i had changed it to

it is 0w40 fully synthetic Mobil 1 if it helps with an answer

they is only about 1/4 of a litre left but thaught it will just top it up a bit ?

if you warm up the engine to full temp then let it cool for a 5-10 mins then check it . yes there is nothing wrong with topping it up with that bit of oil you have left over providing its been stored correctly .

its jsut been kept in a kitchen cupboard under the sink ?

yeah thats fine . as long as its not been kept in an open pan in the garden lol .
