Fitting A Cd Player To A 2001 Yaris

Sorry for such a noob question, but I would like to know how to fit a cd player to a 2001 yaris that only has a tape player?

there is a hole below the tape player can that be used to house the cd player?

You need to get hold of an adapter for an aftermarket radio/cd player, did this on my 99 yaris, fits to the existing radio plug behind the dash, you can normally get these from eBay etc.

Not sure if the player will fit in the slot below, you can get a new fascia that fits below the heater controls and takes an aftermarket cd player.

The slot below will take one of Toyota's 6 disc cd players, you may find one at a scrappy or on eBay but you will need the wiring connections, too. (plug and play) Or you could get the dash built cd player from a higher spec yaris of the same type and swap it for the tape deck.

These are just alternatives to fitting a different aftermarket head unit, keeping Toyota made parts!
