hi can anyone please tell me if the cat converter off the engine on a 2005 model is the same as a 2002 ? I've been offered a 2005, but calling toyota was not too helpful as they wanted reg no. of both cars........or would have to do a long manual check and as no sale were not too keen.

You are talking of a VVTi engine I presume?

Should be the same but look at the shape and the number of oxy sensors.

Another option maybe, I guess you could compare the part for both vehicles on:

but sometimes the part number gets updated anyway, even when it is form,fit and function compatible.
