Mines in the garage being changed right now. Quotes ranged from 5-6 hours from £40+VAT to £60+VAT per hour. All indies around north bristol. So, LOTS!

You sure its the clutch, unusual for it to 'snap' rather than start slipping more and more until it dies. Checked the driveshafts?

well without me putting my foot on the clutch i can move through the gears as if i do have my foot on the clutch. no grinding or anything.

The AA guy said theres some "fingers" that press the clutch plate and they must of snapped,

I dont have a clue. gona get it towed t garage on monday and see what they say. if it doesnt need a clutch il just send it back.

had no signs of slipping or wear at all

Just picked my CTS up from the garage, 5.2 hours labour @£45+vat and £20 gearbox oil. Wow the new clutch is different, I went for Exedy just because they're a brand I recognize from my Max Power days () and had heard about on here, its MUCH lighter than the standard clutch and the engagement is a lot more positive, much more on/off but not ridiculously so.

Annoying I had to splash this much cash just before I go back to uni, but at least its done now and the car feels a lot fresher with it.
