Poor Part-Throtle Respose

2008 1.8 vvti with poor part-throttle response.

During warm-up of the engine and in a queue of traffic the car over reacts to small changes to the throttle.

Back off a little and it backs off too much. Put foot down a little and car accelerates too much.

Reminds me of the days when cars had a manually adjusted choke!

Took the car to Mr T at 10K - he said it is OK. Car has now done 15K - still the same problem although I do accept there cannot be much wrong with it as I am getting 45mpg.

The car/engine is not as refined and smooth as I would have expected when cold / low revs.

Has anyone had such problems and did they get it sorted?

There are number of things that it might be but whilst it is under warranty I am reluctant to investigate.

On the other hand, I suspect Mr T is not going to investigate it further until the OBD complains!!!
