Avensis Clutch Problem

Hi All, I am a new member who after buying a used avensis in good nick, is experiencing a problem with the clutch pedal, once engaged it will only return half way if that, I have to lift it with my foot before changing up or down.

Anyone experienced this problem that may hjave a solution?
