Hi Guys..

Im a noob here so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Im having a bad oil burning problem with my N reg ST i know these have been well known for there oil burning but mine is eating a litre every 500miles OUCH!!!!! and the dreaded MOT time has come round and she has failed big time on emissions on the HC side mainly i have been advised by my yearly MOT test garage that its down to the oil burning so its left me with a few options.

1.have the head rebuilt

2.replace the engine

3.scrap it ( really dont want to do this LOVE THE CAR )

Im wanting to go down the engine swap route as i have priced up both head rebuild and an engine and the engine is the cheaper option i have sourced a low mileage engine 47000 for £290 but the thing is its from a S reg celica ST and im wanting to know if there would be any reason that it would not fit directly into my N reg ST any help on this would be great sorry for the waffeling lol just thought i would share my story....

Insurance not really an issue no just did not really know how easy or how hard that would be really, do you think the engine i have found is a good price for the mileage .....

The 7A from the 98 should slot straight in. Fitting a 3S-GE is a simple job, providing you have a donor car with ECU, Drive shafts, Gearbox, Radiator, Engine mounts etc.
