Shudder At Take-Off

Hi everybody

I have Corolla 1.6 vvt (2006) with 100 000 km on the clock and lately has developed a shudder when taking off from parking. It happens only in 1st gear if I start a bit sharper. There is no noticeable clutch slippage or empty revving in any gear.

Any ideas from you fellows?

This is quite common on Mk1 Yarissesses, esp when its cold.

Mostly we just live with it.

That said, I had recently had my clutch changed because it felt like it was slipping sometimes, and it turned out the diaphragm spring had deformed and wasn't pressing on the friction plate squarely.

The problem has gone away with the new clutch
