Brakes On The Sequoia Or Landcruiser

Has anyone heard the nonsense about the "heavier" Toyotas requiring more frequent brake repairs along the line of every 10,000 or so miles. I just had a 10K check for my 2003 Sequoia and was told I needed new brakes and that it was a common phenomenon on the Sequoia and Landcruiser. Still within 1 year manufacturer's warranty and also have one of those Extra Care warranties that doesn't seem to be helping much.

Sounds like a pile of bull to me. I have a 2004 and 17000km and I drive it pretty hard with original brakes.
