Not so sure whether that would have fried the Battery. Maybe over a period.

Haven't heard of the over-voltage altho the alternators don't last forever.

No use for you, but we have a small workshop nearby that specialises in repairing starters; alternators and the like and are far cheaper than anyone else. They have built up a good market.

Welcome to the forum anyway and hope you manage to get things sorted without too much more !!

By the way, there was a guy in NZ who modded his RAV with a 3SGTE turbo engine - dunno if its still around tho.

I also got info on another forum, that it may well have been the other way around,

the old Battery messing up the alternator and then the car not wanting to start.

I hopefully can pick up my car on Monday and will update what all they did :)
