Another Hello And Car History

Greetings.

I've signed up because I've just bought an Avensis to replace my ageing Passat. We just wanted a big, easy, reliable family car and you seem to be able to get a lot for the money with the Avensis. I may have been a bit mistaken about the reliability, but I'll see how it goes. Here's my (notable) car history in chronological order:

1. 1986 Cavalier SRi 1.8 hatch. Fantastic car at the time.

2. 1994 Cavalier 1.7TD Isuzu engine. Made me a TD fan :)

3. 1990 Cavalier 2.0 CDi. Tank.

4. 1990 Celica GT-R import convertible 4ws auto. Great car but engine seized at an alleged 37,000 miles.

5. 1989 Cavalier GSi2000 16v 4x4. Later swapped the engine to a 2.5 V6 24v which made it a pretty rare GSi2500 4x4 ;)

6. 1990 Celica GTi UK. Nice car. Did well but too many problems as it had 100k on it and Toyota parts were stupidly expensive.

7. 1993 Cavalier SRi 16v red top. Incredibly good car and engine.

8. 2000 Passat 1.8 turbo 20v sport. Made me a VAG fan.

9. 2004 SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDI 200bhp :D my current car.

10. 2008 Avensis TR 2.2 D4D. the current family car.

I used to be involved in the Celica owners club and the various stuff like Cavweb/VXON etc.
