Strange Rattle When I Turn The Wheel

Hi guys,

I noticed some strange rattling noise a couple of days ago in my Auris. I comes when I turn the wheel at low speeds or at parking, but only when the clutch is depressed. Never happened before, what can be the source of the problem?

When something similar happened to my car I had new steering column fitted.

I experienced a rattle which appeared to come from the driver's footwell. It manifested itsel after I had driven a coupole of hundred yards and then when I hit a slight bump or potholes. could not hear it at speeds above about thirty mph.

Like jettech, it turned out to be the steering column - which was replaced under warranty, £800 for the parts and albour and VAt on top. Fixed in a day.
