Morning fellow TOCr's,

My car has done this to me once! I switched the car off and back on and have never seen the lights again. Could have been the car having a hissy fit and now all is well?

I would say that if it comes on again get it checked it could be something as simple as a sensor

Strange how some one else had this now , I came online to ask a similar question

My TRC & VSC & Engine light's are on , but don't go off when I re-start the engine thou....Seems to be running fine still , but i tend not to give it a proper boot just in case. Might just take into Toyota and let them find the code or something ? What do you recon ? Will this be expensive or am I talking £20 - £30 jobby?

Many thanks :D

I think Toyota will charge you an hours labour to diagnose on their machine (hourly rates could be anything between £60 to £100 per hour)

Might be worth seeing if you have a local specialist who could look at it, will probably be cheaper. Before that though if you haven't done so already why not disconnect your Battery to let the system reset

TBH the TRC and VSC won't affect the car in normal conditions/ driving its when it starts going a little bit wey and a little bit woe when they do their magic

I remember the good old days without all that electronic interference

It normally shows the lights as a sign of a problem, rather than the fault being with the TRC and VSC itself.

Ive also had the lights come on before - once in the snow where slush and dirt got into the wheel speed sensor, and once on the motorway - restarting the engine cleared the lights straight away.

if youve got a k&n filter may also be worth giving the MAF sensor a quick clean as this is known to throw up an error if it gets oily/dirty.

You could have a look on eBay for a code reader, often arent very expensive and its a useful tool to have

Called Toyota up yesterday and they said they'd do a diagnostic check on it for £51 , is that decent ? I'll un-hook the Battery this wknd , ( have no tools where i live atm ) needs a spanner to loosen the Battery bolt on's. If this gets rid of the lights , do you recon i should still take it to get checked , because obviously something's up as the lights on mine are still there.

Mine does this to, mines come on, probably nearly 10 times now in the 4months i've owned it. From what i researched, it can be anything, tires too flat? emissions not quite right? balancing out? there are so many things apparently associated with this problem and the obd reader didnt pick anything up when i plugged it in later that day! I need to do a service on it now anyway so im hoping a nice blast of newness might sort it out. But either way i don't think its anything to worry about, i don't even notice it until i look down, car behaves the same so no biggie.
