hi to everyone,

I bought a Toyota corolla(2002) 1.4, t3 today...and it shakes when idle(accelerator needle stays at 0 but car don't die) ...and when I stop at traffic lights....Engine management light in NOT ON...

No loss in power or anything else, changed the o2 sensor and spark plugs....and also I noticed its using little bit more fuel then average....

Any help welcomed...

thanks...

Bad earth possibly? You've changed the sparkplugs and I dont think they have HT leads so i'm not too sure sorry!

Hopefully someone has had this problem before.

I had an E11 Corolla with the 1.4 vvti engine and that used to shake at idle, only did it when the idle dropped to 700rpm

hi ,

thanks everyone for your reply...

went to garage today, mechanic checked for air leaks but can't find any. he did some cleaning its little bit better but not fully cured....

Can it be MAP sensor or temp sensor??...or any other sensor??.....problem is no engine light so can't find the code from diagnostics....

I'm here in Coventry.

What rpm is the car actually idling at?

hi,

accelerator needle is on 0(zero)when idle(within gear or without gear don't matter)...

Yea obviously, bit at what revs does the other needle sit at? Around 800 odd?

I'm having difficulty explaining or other people have difficulty in understanding.....revs needle is on 0(zero)...as revs r multiplied by 1000 so if the needle is on 1, it means its 1000, and if needle is on zero, it means zero. because 1000 multiply by zero is zero.
